In March 2022, DC movie fans got the disappointing news that most of the high profile Warner Bros. Irons has played the character since Batman v Superman and quickly became a fan favorite of the Snyderverse, so it would be fun to have him pop up once more. Given that we are already expecting appearances from two different Batman variants (Michael Keaton vintage and nouveau Affleck, respectively), it is not surprising we may also get two or more Supermen.įinally, it is also rumored that we might get the return of Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, the world’s most discreet and patient butler. Reportedly, Cavill is still under contract for one more appearance as Clark Kent, so he also might be showing up as some version of the character. There are also reports that the Flash trailer included “ a young Superman,” who is being presumed to not be the version played by Henry Cavill since Man of Steel. It seems that some multiversal trickery will be bringing him back alive and presumably well, and we are always happy to see Michael Shannon. Shannon’s take on the Kryptonian general has not appeared in the DCEU since 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which makes sense since he was previously killed by Superman at the end of Man of Steel. We reported a while back that Michael Shannon’s General Zod would be returning to the DCEU in The Flash, and the trailer finally confirmed it. As such, the Flash trailer that was shown there revealed some important details about who is going to pop up in the new adventures of Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. The Flash solo movie is one of Warner Bros’ most important DCEU, as it seems it will serve as a transition point for their next generation of comic book adaptations.
